Round Top Peak

Kirkwood, CA · June 2020

A month before I was to go back to Singapore to begin my mandatory military service, my dad and I went up to Lake Tahoe for some mountain biking and hiking. While not as steep as other peaks we've hiked in the area, the patches of snow made it a little more interesting and the views a lot more stunning.

  1. Looking down from a rocky summit at a hiker in a sun hat resting just below the crest, with a deep bowl of red-brown scree and snow-streaked ridges beyond.
1/4Enjoying the view from up near the peak
  2. A hiker in a striped blue jacket, bucket hat and sunglasses sitting on a granite slab beside a deep blue alpine lake, a raft of ice still floating on it and snow on the slope behind.
    2/4Short stop at Winnemucca Lake
  3. A hiker climbing a steep snowfield toward a dark rock summit, passing wind-bent whitebark pines under a hard blue sky.
3/4On the way up near the summit with some snow scramble
  4. A hiker in a striped jacket and bucket hat standing on a broad sandy plateau streaked with melting snow, with Caples Lake and the Sierra crest spread out behind.
